This is really a minor fix. A very small bug that turned out to be disturbing nerves. a) Fixed JIP unable to display IP number from JIP's main frame on some systems. The reason is that the upcoming JIP 1.0 uses a powerful techniques in displaying IP. So we decided to use this technique in JIP 0.8. But unfortunately JIP 0.8 could not handle the technique very well on some systems. b) Fixed others could not get the "Minimize on startup" and/or refresh IP to work correctly. ======================================== Changes In version 0.8.7.04 JULY 2004 ======================================== This update/upgrade applies to any JIP version from 0.6X, 0.7X to 0.8. 1.Corrected JIP's way of notifying error messages (with popup windows). Formerly JIP will notify you with a popup window when it encounters error. Waiting for a confirmation before it continues with next update. This has been removed. Instead, JIP will now append any message onto the Status window. This will let JIP continue doing it's JOB as usual. 2.The sequence of url addresses in which JIP obtains IP (from web) has been changed. More reliable, good and stable url addresses has been added. Formerly sometime JIP encounters "Connection refused".This happens only to those that choose "Get IP from Internet". (In other words Web base IP detection). This is because the IP detection servers are in a sequence. Sometimes url address from which JIP obtains the IP number may also be down and JIP will popup a window indicating this problem. Or simply the owner of the server adjusted the server settings because of massive requests or trafic overload. 3.JIP can now sleep automatically when it encounters any problem during IP detection (depending on what type of problem). Then continue after the problems has been resolved. If the problem is IP detectection, JIP will resolve this by using a different and reliable url address. 4.Resolved TZO.com sleep time before second update. Among Tzo rules is "not more than one update within 60 minutes". ========================================== JIP UPDATE 0.7b Feb 2004 ========================================== This will upgrade your existing of 0.6x ,0.7x to 0.7 & 0.7b respectively Changes are: ************* 1. Fixed always one have to click on the OK button after autoupdate. Previousely JIP will wait for an OK to be clicked before performing next auto update. 2. Fixed black overlay colour on the "IP text field" on main Frame. Previously some Mac users have been experiencing this problem. 3. Now you can view the log file directly from main frame. 4. It's now possible to define whether the auto-update frame should be closed automatically or closed manually. Some users have asked for this. We have previously assumed that not everybody read the status on the main frame daily or occationaly. So whenever there is an update JIP brings up this frame to help draw the attention of the user to show that something has happened The advantage of close manually is that; in case the network or the returned message from server is bad you can see it instantly. 5. Fixed "Reset button" not being able to set values to null in JIP General( for other dns services). 6. Added couple of dns services in JIP General (JIP for other Dns services). Thanks to Robert Espinoza. (in Palmdale, CA.) for pointing out nr.1 and the great feedbacks. ======================================================= Update ver 0.7a & 0.6a(for other services)-Jan 2004 ======================================================= RECOMMENDED UPDATE *********************** Corrected update timing during system reboot or during Jip restart. Now the update is faster and independent of synchronization methods. EXPLANATION ********************* During system reboot or whenever Jip is re-started it checks the ip number and compares it with the one stored in database. Then passes this number to a different class for re-check. This is a synchronization process so there is sometime a delay in updating at dynamic services. This happens only when rebooting stystem. Now this process goes on independently of methods. ==================================================== JIP For dyndns Vers. 0.7.0 1203 December 2003 ==================================================== This version comes as either full version or as an upgrade. * Fixed Frame disappearance on minimize (Under some OS). * Added more Url addresses to be used as backup in case the first Url goes down.
